What is the SJB Meditation Park?
The Meditation Park is located on the Southwest corner of the parish property. Established in 1997, it 's main features include a looped pathway tracing the Stations of the Cross, a Grotto with an altar, and several shrines. The Meditation Park invites visitors into a natural setting, and encourages peaceful reflection of several aspects of our Catholic Faith.
Who maintains the Park?
The Park is maintained by volunteers from the Parish. Persons helping in the Park are using their talent and time in a ministry that is one form of enrichment for the Parish Community.
How can I Contribute to the SJB Meditation Park Ministry?
We need volunteers to help in the Mediation Park! Families or individuals could "adopt" the area around a Station or shrine and help keep that area maintained. We periodically have work parties when we need people to come and work in the park. These are usually advertised in the bulletin. If everybody pitches in to do a little, it will make a big difference!
Who can I contact to help with this Ministry?
Parish Office 253-582-1028
Please join us for a Work Party in the Meditation Park June 25th, 8am-12pm. We are in urgent need for volunteers to assist in cleaning up and maintaining the Meditation Park at St. John Bosco. Due to recent rains and sunshine, the park is being overtaken with weeds. It is too much for just one person or a small team of 3-4 to maintain.
If you cannot help for the work party, but can dedicate a couple hours each week to help maintain the park, please let us know. We would really hate to lose this absolute gem on our property. Many hands make light work and we are ALL called to help in some way. Please fill out the form available below or contact the office for more details.
Exciting News! The Meditation Park was recently featured in the Northwest Catholic Magazine.
